Manuela Romano Mozo - DEPSS Project

MANUELA ROMANO MOZO

Senior Lecturer at the UNIVERSITY AUTÓNOMA DE MADRID.

Senior Lecturer in English Linguistics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Her research focuses on the language-cognition-society triangulation, more specifically on English historical linguistics, narrative studies, metaphorical creativity, the discourse of social protest movements, etc., all within socio-cognitive approaches to language. She has coordinated the Master in English Applied Linguistics and has been Head of the English Department at the UAM. She has coordinated several funded research projects since 2005, and has published in journals such as Text & Talk, Narrative Inquiry, Journal of Pragmatics, Metaphor & Symbol and Metaphor and the Social World.

Nuria Calvo Cortés - DEPSS Project

NURIA CALVO CORTÉS

Associate Lecturer at UNIVERSITY COMPLUTENSE DE MADRID.

Dr. Nuria Calvo Cortés has worked as an associate lecturer at Complutense University in Madrid since 2006. She completed her PhD in English Historical linguistics in 2012. She has taught different subjects in the department of English Philology and she has also supervised many Trabajos de Fin de Grado (end of degree papers). At present she is supervising two doctoral students thesis. Her main interest is English historical linguistics, specifically grammar, pragmatics and sociolinguistics in the Late Modern English period. She is currently working on the transcription and analysis of a corpus of letters.

María Fernández Agüero - DEPSS Project

MARÍA FERNÁNDEZ AGÜERO

ELT Lecturer at UNIVERSITY AUTÓNOMA DE MADRID.

Dr. María Fernández Agüero holds a M.A. in English as a Foreign Language Teacher Education and a Ph.D. in English Philology from National Distance Education University (UNED, Spain). She currently works as an ELT lecturer at Autónoma University of Madrid, and she has been training Primary and Secondary EFL pre-service and in-service teachers for 15 years. Her main reseach interests include second language teaching and learning, and more especifically, the development of written skills, bilingual education and content and language integrated learning.

MARIANN LARSEN PEHRZON

Associate Professor at the UNIVERSITY COMPLUTENSE DE MADRID.

Mariann Larsen is Associate Professor of English Linguistics at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid since 1981. Her teaching and research has been focused on the areas of English grammar and syntax, historical linguistics, history of linguistics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, stylistics and multimodality, within the framework of functional linguistics. She has been teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels , Master and Doctoral Programmes. She is currently working in text and discourse studies, storytelling and multimodality. She has also published creative writing.
